Spicy Crab Pasta

Cooked Time: 40-45 Minutes


Ingredients:

Produce:

4 Lemons

2 8oz containers of fresh grape tomatoes

3 Cloves of fresh Garlic

Carb:

Spaghetti (preferable Fresh)

Meat:

Blue Crab

Dairy:

Grated Parm

Canned/ Other:

1/2 a tin of tomato paste, (about 4 tablespoons)

Crushed Red Pepper Flakes



This Three step recipe is simple and delicious.


Step One: the fresh tomato sauce:

  1. In a large skillet add EVOO garlic, anchovy paste, basil and both 8oz containers of grape Tomatoes

  2. Let this cook on medium for 15 minutes

  3. Cover with lid and lower heat to low for about an hour

  4. Let this simmer on low until the garlic is fragrant, the tomatoes start to burst

  5. Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a blender and DO NOT CLEAN THE PAN

  6. Set aside Blended mixture

Step Two: Crab Base

  1. in the same skillet you created your tomato sauce in add your Blue lump crab (par cooked)

  2. add your tomato paste and chili flakes

  3. let this cook on medium head until the crab begins to shred itself into small pieces (you can encourage this with two forks)

  4. Re-add the blended tomato sauce from step one and let them simmer together on low for another 30-45 minutes

Step Three: Pasta

  1. Boil your pasta water

  2. Put your pasta in per the instructions from the pasta you are using

  3. Take out 2 cups of pasta water 2 minutes before the pasta is ready and set aside

  4. Directly put your pasta into the crab tomato sauce

  5. Splash in pasta water and one handful of grated parm to create a creamy sauce

Final Step: Serve

  1. Add anything in your pantry that stands out

  2. Parsley, red pepper flakes, bottarga or Bonnita Flakes

  3. Enjoy!
